[Eat] Secret of Louisiana @ Kelana Jaya

There's something magical about having a wonderful meal while watching the sunset.

Secret of Louisiana is located at a rather run down area of shops in Kelana Jaya. The area is just beside Kelana Jaya park. The main attraction here for me is the view of the lake. And on this beautiful day the weather is just perfect nice breeze and clear skies. Nothing like enjoying a good meal while watching the day slowly end with a sunset. 

I ordered the Neptune something which is a generous seafood platter with crawfish, mussels, oysters, scallops, prawns and fish on top of a bed of spaghetti. The food was good, not as flavorful as I expected but good enough for me to return. The menu also has interesting Louisiana dishes like gumbo.

Overall this is a very nice place, hard to find that view anywhere else in Petaling Jaya. The food is good, at least it's a pass in my books. So if I ever want a relaxing dinner, this would definitely be a place I would consider.

Thai Tea. Nothing special.

Thai Omelette. Why do people keep adding their cuisine name in front of a normal dish? It is just an omelette. Which part made it specially Thai? It should be called Just Omelette

Morning glory with garlic and oyster sauce. Just enough oomph in spiciness.

Massaman chicken curry

Massaman curry, the best food according to CNN. I have tried it twice in Malaysia both times I was not amazed. Either we have corrupted the flavor by making it Halal or CNN has got it wrong ( not a surprise :) ). This curry was a complex mix of flavors but to me it was distinctly sweet and creamy. Personally I do not like sweet curries and prefer it savory. The creaminess simply means it is too cloying to ever drink it till the last drop. So in my opinion, Tom yam is still undisputed king of Thai food and CNN food review sux!

Seafood Miso. Generous amounts of lala!

Mushroom soup. Too thick.

Signature Omu Rice. Nice! But the egg gets cloying after awhile

[Food] Manmaru Udon @ MidValley

Manmaru Udon, a delightful udon place in Midvalley serves some very excellent udons. Each bowl averaging around RM20, was delicious. My favourite, the Onsen Tamago udon, partially cooked egg on al dente udon served with garlic, seaweed and chicken teriyaki. The flavors were well balanced and not over-powering. A clean and distinct flavor from each ingredient combined to make a wonderful udon meal.

Duck breast udon. Sweet, flavorful soup with high quality duck meat.

Nice Niku udon but unfortunately only average and certainly was the least inspiring of the 3.

Onsen Tamago Udon. The highlight of the night, highly recommended!

Tucked within the neighborhood of Ara Damansara is a nice little cafe, Jac's On The 8th.

Nice and simple, with coffee and awesome food.

Nice and fresh mushroom soup

Omelette with cheese & mushroom

Profound words cuz you alwiz need something to ponder about in a cafe.

Breakfast! Very nice hash browns and very interesting stewed mushrooms. A tad salty though, but good with the toast.

Simple and nice chinese food. Located at a less crowded area at SS18, this place has awesome Fried Brinjal andd good chinese dishes.

Not that good, a little watery.

[Food] Garage 51 @ Sunway

     It wasn't that long ago when Subang and surrounding areas did not have any decent coffee nearby. Now with several like Coffea coffee and Flat White opening in SS15, finally Subang has some nice cafes to choose from. SS15 has always been a crowded nightmare, thankfully Coffee Societe has opened a cafe in Sunway instead, amidst the car garages ( thus the name ).

I was there just for coffee, and it was good. I am no expert so I can't tell what beans from where or any other fancy coffee descriptions. For me, it tastes good then it's good :)

[Food] BBQ Thai - Old Klang Road

Tuk-tuk in KL!

   Located on the busy Old Klang Road, right beside Coco Steamboat, BBQ Thai is a beautifully decorated Thai restaurant with good food. I like the deco, simple and nice. A lot of it done with recycled materials, pails for lamps, water containers for a bar.With nice little huts separating the diners it gives a little more privacy to enjoy the meal with your friends.

Can't go wrong with Salted Egg Squid

Nice sour tomyam, For me maybe it needs a bit more sweetness.

Amazing pork neck. I would say it is nicer than the one in Awet Thai

The bill came up to around RM 155 for 5 people.
